Privacy Policy

Case & Cedar collects only the information needed to run the store: your order and contact details, payment confirmation from the payment provider, and basic technical data. We do not sell personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.

Information we collect

  • Order and account information: name, email address, billing and shipping address, phone number if you provide one, the items ordered, and order history. If you create an account, your login details and saved addresses.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by PayPal or the card and wallet provider selected at checkout. We receive a confirmation and a transaction reference; full card numbers are never sent to or stored on this site.
  • Communications: emails you send us, including any photographs you attach to a return or damage claim.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring pages, collected through server logs and the cookies described below.
  • Reviews: if you leave a product review, the review text and the display name you choose are published on the product page.

How we use it

We use this information to process and deliver orders, send order confirmations and tracking, answer questions, handle returns and claims, prevent fraud, meet tax and accounting obligations, keep the site secure, and understand which pages and products are useful so we can improve them. We send transactional emails about your order; we do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly ask to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Cookies

The site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work: WooCommerce cookies that remember your cart and checkout session, a login cookie if you sign in, and cache cookies used by the hosting platform to serve pages faster. These do not track you across other websites. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies; if that changes, this page will be updated and, where required, you will be asked for consent. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout will not work without the necessary ones.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with providers who need it to deliver the service you asked for, under their own privacy commitments:

  • Payment providers (PayPal and the card or wallet network you choose) to take payment and detect fraud.
  • Shipping carriers, who receive your name, address, and phone number to deliver the parcel and, for international orders, customs authorities who receive the declaration.
  • Our hosting provider, which stores the website and its database.
  • Email service providers used to send order and support messages.
  • Professional advisers and authorities where required by law, for example tax records or a lawful request.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as needed to provide support and returns and to meet tax and accounting requirements, typically seven years. Support emails are kept for two years after the last message. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete the account. Server logs are rotated automatically within a short period.

Your rights

You can ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it (subject to records we must keep by law), or stop using it for a particular purpose. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what information is collected, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights; we do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law. To exercise any right, email service@caseandcedar.com from the address used on your order. We may ask for information to verify your identity before responding.

International transfers

Our providers may store or process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, payment details are handled by the payment provider, and access to order data is limited to people who need it to fulfil orders. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and any authority as required by law.

Children

The site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the store or the law changes. The date of the current version appears in the page’s modification date, and material changes will be noted on this page.
