Travel Case Selector

Choose how many cigars you normally carry and what the case is mainly for. The selector points to a starting category or product; confirm length and diameter on the product page before ordering.

How the suggestions are chosen

The selector uses two facts that decide most purchases. Capacity sets the format: one to three cigars means a pocketable sleeve or slide case; four or five means a tray or zippered case that lives in a bag; eight or more means a travel humidor with retention straps and room for a humidity pack. Main use then narrows the material: leather for compact everyday carry, cedar when interior structure and separation matter, and a case with a dedicated tool pocket when a cutter or lighter travels with the cigars.

What the selector does not check

It does not know the length or ring gauge of your cigars. Two three-cigar cases in the catalog have very different openings (23 mm and 28 mm on the close-fit leather case, about 25 mm on the cedar-tube case), so a suggestion is only a starting point. Open the product page, read the specification table, and run the numbers through the case fit checker.

Choosing between close alternatives

  • Slide case vs. zippered case: a slide case is quicker to open and thinner; a zippered case closes along its whole edge and has room for a humidity pack. See slide case vs. zippered travel humidor.
  • Hard shell vs. soft pouch: rigid channels protect against crushing in luggage; a soft pouch packs smaller in a jacket. See hard-shell vs. soft cigar case.
  • Leather vs. cedar: leather is the durable outer shell; cedar improves the interior. See leather cigar case vs. cedar case.
  • With or without cutter: a case-and-cutter set saves carrying a separate tool, but check that the cutter opening matches your ring gauge. See the cutter buying guide.
