Frequently Asked Questions

Do the cases include cigars?

No. Case & Cedar sells cases and accessories only. Cigars shown in product photographs are display props and are never included with an order.

How do I know whether my cigars will fit?

Compare two numbers: the cigar’s length against the case’s stated usable or exterior length, and the cigar’s diameter against the case’s opening or channel diameter. Convert ring gauge to millimeters with the ring gauge converter (ring gauge × 25.4 ÷ 64), then use the case fit checker. Leave 1–2 mm of tolerance below the stated maximum, because lining and hand measurement vary.

What is the difference between capacity and fit?

Capacity is a count of channels or slots. Fit is whether a specific cigar goes into one of those channels without being forced. A three-cigar case with 22 mm channels holds three cigars up to roughly 54 ring gauge; a 60 ring gauge cigar will not fit even though there is a free channel.

Does every case control humidity?

No. Leather sleeves, slide cases, and hard cases protect cigars from movement and crushing during a trip; they do not regulate humidity. Cedar lining improves the interior but does not create a humidor. Only an enclosed case used with a correctly sized humidity pack offers short-term humidity support, and the listing states when a pack is included.

Is a cutter included?

Only when the product name or the selected variation says so. The two hard-case sets and the cutter configuration of the crazy horse pouch include a cutter; other cases do not. Cutters, lighters, and ashtrays shown in photographs are props unless listed under “What’s included”.

Which cases are best for everyday carry?

One- to three-cigar leather sleeves and slide cases are the most compact and fit a jacket pocket or bag. Four- and five-cigar cases and the eight-cigar travel humidor are bag or luggage products. The travel case selector suggests a starting category.

Can I use a travel case for long-term storage?

A travel case is designed for days, not months. Return cigars to a properly seasoned humidor after the trip. The desktop humidor box in the catalog holds more cigars but is supplied without a humidity system, so it also needs a humidity source before it can be used for storage.

How are the dimensions measured?

Exterior dimensions describe the closed case: length × width × thickness. Interior figures, such as maximum slot length or opening diameter, are given where the maker publishes them. Package dimensions describe the gift box, not the case. All measurements are hand-measured by the maker and can vary by a few millimeters.

Where do you ship, and how much does it cost?

Tracked shipping is free to the United States on orders of $75 or more and $9.95 below that, $14.95 to Canada, and $19.95 to other supported destinations. Orders are prepared within 2–5 business days. Full details, including customs notes, are on the shipping and returns page.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery time depends on destination and carrier. As a guide, most United States orders arrive within 5–10 business days after dispatch, Canada within 7–14, and other destinations within 10–25. These are estimates, not guarantees; tracking is emailed when the order ships.

Can I return a case?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, provided it is unused, free of odor, and in its original packaging with all included items. Email us with the order number to start a return. Return shipping is paid by the buyer unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect. See the returns section.

What if the case arrives damaged?

Email photographs of the item and packaging within 7 days of delivery. We will replace the item or refund the order, including any return shipping we ask you to arrange.

Which payment methods do you accept?

PayPal, major credit and debit cards, and eligible device wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay where your device and browser support them. Prices are shown and charged in US dollars.

Do you charge sales tax or duties?

Any applicable tax is calculated at checkout based on the delivery address. International buyers are responsible for import duties, taxes, and carrier fees charged by the destination country.

Are the products branded?

Cases are sold under their generic descriptions. Where a design carries printed artwork, the listing describes the artwork; we do not sell counterfeit or brand-marked goods.

How should I care for a leather or cedar case?

Wipe leather with a dry soft cloth, keep it away from direct heat, and store it open and empty after a trip. Keep cedar dry and unscented; never soak it or use fragranced cleaners. The journal has separate guides for leather and cedar care.

Can I travel by air with a cigar case?

The case itself is normally permitted in carry-on and checked luggage. Cutters and lighters are subject to airline and destination rules that change; check them before packing. Our flying checklist covers packing and humidity on longer trips.
