Which Cigar Case Fits a Churchill? Compare 178 mm

Published · By Case & Cedar

Cedar-Lined 8-Cigar Travel Humidor — product image 2

TL;DR: The classic Churchill guide size is 7 × 47 (177.8 × 18.653125 mm). The Julieta No. 2 factory example is listed at 178 × 47. Use that exact size with known interior limits; a 180 mm exterior is not proof of a 178 mm interior.

The length is usually the deciding constraint

A 178 mm cigar leaves 2 mm against a 180 mm listed maximum and 12 mm against a 190 mm listed slot. The finder labels the former near a limit. This is a dimensional comparison, not a claim about actual retention or the lid.

Why some cases remain unconfirmed

The leather case with a 215 mm exterior still lacks a usable interior measurement in its supplied specification. Its exterior cannot establish fit. The same rule applies to sleeves, pouches and larger travel humidors with unspecified interiors.

Churchill is not Double Corona

The manufacturer Prominentes example is 194 mm long. It is outside a 190 mm slot, even though the 178 mm Churchill may be a dimensional candidate for that slot. Compare Double Corona dimensions separately.

Brand-specific Churchill products can differ. Use the box or manufacturer listing and keep the full carried length, including any tube or packaging. See the Churchill reference page for both source records.
