Forty size records with explicit units, sources and example types.
This reference separates ten illustrative format examples from thirty manufacturer formats. It is a dimension reference for tools, editors and developers. It is not a catalogue of cigars for sale or a claim that every cigar with a shared name has the same size.

Read-only API
- Size records: version, sources, units and forty records.
- Current case limits: current available options, prices and supplier evidence.
- Fit example: 152.4 mm × 52 ring.
Fit parameters: length_mm (optional, 10–400), ring_gauge (10–100), shape (round or box-pressed) and diameter_mm (optional measured width, 3–45). Omitting length produces a width-only comparison. No account, secret, or write endpoint is involved.
Response states
within_listed_limits: both dimensions supplied and room remains.near_limit: less than 3 mm length clearance or 0.5 mm diameter clearance.width_only: length was not supplied.insufficient_data: a required case dimension is missing.shape_unconfirmed: a box-pressed cigar needs a measured width.outside_listed_limits: a stated size bound is exceeded.
Fields and units
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| id | Stable record identifier; use this rather than treating a display name as a unique size. |
| name / family | Source format name / editorial grouping for the directory. |
| record_type | illustrative_format or manufacturer_format. |
| length_mm / length_in | Published length and its conversion. Manufacturer millimeters take precedence over a rounded inch label. |
| ring_gauge / diameter_mm | Ring number and calculated nominal diameter. No rounding before fit comparison. |
| source_url / source_reference | Public reference and relevant format or range within it. |
| example_product | Manufacturer example identifying a factory format; not a product sold by this store. |
| notes | Limits, differences or interpretation needed to use the row. |
Conversion and comparison rules
One inch is exactly 25.4 mm. Nominal cigar diameter in mm equals ring gauge × 25.4 ÷ 64. For factory entries supplied in millimeters, that figure is preserved; the inch value is derived. This avoids converting a rounded label back into a different physical size.
Case data is separate from the size dataset. The API reads current in-stock product options and checks them against reviewed supplier specifications. If those product specifications change, their comparison data is withheld pending review. Prices are read from WooCommerce and are not part of the static size dataset.
Box-pressed cigars require a widest measured width for a positive comparison. Near-limit flags use 3 mm length and 0.5 mm diameter as screening thresholds only; they are not measured tolerances or a universal clearance requirement.
